In November 1950, the Midland County Security Committee was internet hosting a contest to find out who had been driving in Midland the best variety of years with no accidents.
The Day by day Information reported how some members of the protection committee fared with protected driving, Member Nelson Tisdale stated he by no means had an accident or minor site visitors or overparking violation within the 27 years he had been behind the wheel. Committee member C.E. Arnold had one accident in 30 years of driving as did Police Chief R. W. Rogers. Rogers added he had been issued two extra time parking tickets.
